Editorial for Loire: La Chope
Polish up on your french classic dishes as there’s no English translation (although you can cheat and read the English menu online).
There's a great choice of those classic french dishes and particularly those specialising in ‘les fruits de la mer’. The ‘Sole grillée ou meunière' and my ‘Pavé de thon aux tapenade’ were perfect. I particulalry like the "Petit Gourmet ...saumon fumé, huîtres, bulots, crevettes grises et roses, foie gras" and that's just for kids ! Every table was booked and a waiting list one very quiet Sunday lunch in February, so might be best to ring ahead.
Open for lunch everyday 12 – 2pm Dinner 7.30 to 11am.
