Loire Valley

The majestical Loire Valley is enriched by historic and fairy-tale castles in villages and towns such as Amboise, Angers, Blois, Chinon and Saumur just to mention a few.  Once home, or inspiration to many great French writers and poets such as Rabelais, Descartes and Balzac whose books and poems depicted the enchanted woodlands, vineyards and magical gardens. The Loire is special place in France with so much to discover.

The 'Vallée de la Loire' is also known as 'The Garden of France' and boasts beautiful chateaux.  A large part of the Loire has been classified 'World Heritage', (between Maine and Sully-sur-Loire). This will ensure that the exceptional cultural landscape will be nurtured for future generations.

People come to the Loire to re-live the grandeur of 'life at the chateau', however there is so much more to see and do; cycling enthusiasts will enjoy the flat terrain and quiet roads leading to pretty and historic villages.  Go horseback around prestigious hunting grounds of former Kings and Queens or take a hot air balloon ride for a panoramic view. All this and only 1 hour from Paris by TGV.

So, where to stay? Short on boutique hotels, the ‘de rigueur' is to rest at a chateau.  Here's our ‘art de vivre'  of the Touraine, all bookings receive our free travel guide to the Loire.
