The Honours - Fine Dining

A new restaurant by Martin Wishart, opened in August 2011 it has the 'wow' factor and promotes itself as a contemporary brasserie. Best value is the set 3 course lunch menu. Price are reasonable but certainly not a cheap eat. Poached Fillets of Sea Bass (£14.50) - Peas & onion a? la Franc?aise, coriander & mint mousseline or Rabbit a la moutarde with Pommes saute?es (£16.95). The Grill features Rib-Eye and Sirloin 250g from £22. Lovely elegant surroundings. Pasta dishes are more reasonable at £14.75 for Pappardelle with roasted vine tomatoes, black olives and basil.

Open: Tues-Saturday Lunch 12:00—14:30 Dinner 18:00—22:30 Sunday lunch 12:30—14:30 Closed on Mondays.

Fishers

Quality Scottish seafood without fuss but full of flavour. There’s the classic 'Moules et Frites' in a white cream sauce, try the Sea Bass stuff with ginger, garlic and corriander or the Tuna crusted with cumin, accompanied with a sour cream sauce doesn't sound great but works well.
Tip: Book a table at the bar, its more atmospheric however if you’re with kids perhaps the larger tables around the corner.

Apparently one of the most creative and innovative vegetarian chefs in the UK. I've not dined but will on my return visit as the reviews are particularly good.

Daniel’s Bistro

Close to the harbour foreshore I'd book a table for lunch after a visit to The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is a great visit. You'll be feeling like something more refined.
