Stirling Castle
Why go: This would have to be the gem of Scottish castles. Its also situated in a rather fun village, Stirling, which has some fine restaurants and shopping. Historically, its so rich, see website for full history but Mary Queen of Scots, was crowned here in 1543, and Mary’s own son, the future James VI, was baptised here in 1566.
When: Summer 21 March - 30 September 2008, Daily 9.30 am to 6.00pm
then Winter: 1 October - 31 March 2009 Daily 9.30am to 5.00pm
