The Big Guns
Harvey Nicols is a beautiful store, small but packed with everyone you
could want and some great UK designers. Enjoy lunch or if still opened the nail bar with champage. You’ll find Stella McCartney, Prada and the new label twenty8twelve by Sienna Miller. Walk around the corner to
Multrees Walk for more prestigious brands. This area is close to St.
Andrews Square for more department shopping at Jenners. (pictured twenty8twelve)

Vintage Shopping
Edinburgh has a great selection of vintage shops, one very popular one
with great items (gloves, hats, coats, jewellery) is Herman Brow on West Port. Another is WM Armstrong, Grassmarket
Princes Street
This street offers all the brands Zara, Gap, H&M and Frasers on one side and the spectacular Edinburgh Castle on the other. It is not shopping any different to Oxford Street, London, perhaps not as big. Recommend heading to George Street for more sophisitcated shopping. Don’t miss The White Company for interior items and LK Bennett.
Grassmarket & The Royal Mile
While mentioned in our SEE and Do section the Royal Mile is where you go for Scottish sourvenirs. There’s always a number of entertainment
activities for kids and cafes and restaurants. Great to just wonder for
an afternoon. The Royal Mile is very touristy but where you would head for some quality cashmere and wool items. There are a few quirky shops and elegant knitwear can be found at NESS, fashion, bags, purses all in bright groovy tartan colours. Others worth a look are Anta Scotland and the Hawick Cashmere Company. Visit WM Armstrong for vintage items.
Jane Davidson
If you are looking for an authentic Mackintosh, beautiful cashmere knits, or some brand names like Paul & Joe, you'll find it all in this wonderful boutique store almost as famous at Harvey Nichols to the locals. Another great brand is Queene and Belle ex Pringle designers who have their own very attractive label coveted by many a celebrity I'm told.
