And after all the tourist attractions?
Perhaps you’ve already climbed the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, walked the Avenue des Champs Élysées, watched a sunset while cruising on a ‘Bateau Mouche’ and marvelled at the architecture of Notre Dame. You’ve exhausted yourself at the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay and you’ve smelt the roses at the wonderful Luxembourg Gardens and the Tuileries. So now you’re looking to discover another side to Paris – some ideas below:
Paris Walks
You will often hear that there is no better way to experience Paris than by foot. Why not let an informed, English guide take you to some interesting parts of Paris. Choose from Fashion to Chocolate or tailor your own. The walks are endorsed by the Paris Tourist Office and while no reservation is required, it might be best to check and confirm the meeting point. Monthly walk programs can be downloaded from their site, if we have made your hotel booking, only too happy to reserve for you.

Radio France
Visit this site for information about free concerts held at Radio France or other venues across Paris. Expect an impressive musical line up Stravinsky, Ravel, Brahms and Schumann. While the site is in French, and may be a little difficult to navigate, it is well worth the effort if you wish to buy tickets for Haydn or Mozart at the Musee d’Orsay some, for as little as 8 euros. The schedule can be downloaded.
For information about concerts try, ‘Le Billetterie’ in the ‘Musique’ section for online purchases. If we have booked your accommodation, we would be happy to reserve tickets on your behalf or forward the latest information about concerts during your stay.

Les Bouquinistes - Booksellers
No trip is complete without wondering along the Seine and admiring the extensive collection of books, calendars, postcards and other collectable items from these booksellers.
There are over 200 stalls or 'little green boxes' keeping up a tradition since the 16th century. The postcards are particularly interesting and make wonderful gifts. Some also sell old vinyl records, mostly French artists. While it is difficult to find English books, still worth a stroll.
Open from 11.30am daily, closed during holidays and inclement weather.
Choose from Right or Left bank locations, right bank Pont Marie and Louvre, Left Quai de la Tournelle to Quai Voltaire.
Marché des enfants rouges
For a trip down memory lane this market is a 'must'. It began in the early 1600s and remains as popular as ever. You'll find fois gras, tempting charcuterie, fresh seafood and other delights delivered daily from many of France's small provincial towns.
Also a great spot for lunch try 'La Rôtisserie' for crisp-skinned rotisserie Bresse chicken, potatoes and a glass of vin rouge, or Le Traiteur Marocain for spiced lamb-and-prune tagine and fluffy couscous royale, both under 20 euros.
Open: Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30am to 1pm and 4pm to 7.30pm (until 8 pm on Friday and Saturday); Sunday, 8.30am to 2pm. M: Filles-du-Calvaire

Paris by 2CV
Ask yourself this...will I be back? So you have to make the most of it. Have fun while touring the famous sights of Paris in France's most respected vehicle, the 2CV.
All the chauffeurs speak English and know a little more info than some of the guide books. Choose from a 3hr Magic Tour (the essentials), my choice would be either the 'Picnic', where you'll be dropped off with your own basket of goodies in a beautiful garden or the 'Romantic evening', be taken to one of 'Fréres Blanc' restaurants and see Paris at night. See more Tours and prices at their website.
